Let us help Tita Niji get the opportunity to recover.

Friends, your generous hearts can save Tita Niji. Please spare time to read her story.

"Mama" is what my wife affectionately calls her. And even though she's single, all of her nephews and nieces fondly call her Mama as well. She sort of adopted and raised my wife since she was a baby. That's why my wife considers Tita Niji as both her mother & father. Unfortunately, due to health complications, "Ta Niji" (as how I call her) has been in the ICU since April 6, 2020.

Last Dec 2018, we noticed that her speech started to slur. Several months after, she was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) aka motor neuron disease. My wife & I are working in Metro Manila, but my wife does her best to make a video call every single night to talk to Ta Niji and she flies to Bacolod City every other month to visit and attend to her needs personally.

But for the past two weeks, Ta Niji had trouble sleeping. Last Monday afternoon, Apr 6, my wife decided that Ta Niji be brought to the hospital because she felt that it was the best thing to do. Ta Niji was taken cared of at the E.R. for a few hours before she was transferred to a room that night. However, that same night, her breathing suddenly stopped so she was rushed to the ICU.

The doctor said that there's an excessive amount of CO2 in her body. She couldn't exhale them, thus the reason for her problem in sleeping. So now we understand why. Ta Niji was trying not to sleep because she was scared that she can't exhale while she sleeps. And that's what exactly happened the night she lost her breath. Out of exhaustion, she fell asleep and her body couldn't make her breathe properly. Our updated news is that Ta Niji's CO2 level is now down, & her BP, pulse rate, & oxygen level are hitting the normal range. The doctors are checking on how to help her urinate more. They are also giving Ta Niji the nutrients she needs.

It breaks our hearts that Ta Niji is there in Bacolod while we are still here in Makati. My wife was supposed to be home last Mar 25, but we found ourselves rebooking our flights to Bacolod twice already due to the EECQ. We want to see her asap, be with her to make her feel our love but for now we could only pray really hard that Ta Niji responds well to the care being given to her & for us to go home very soon.

So right from the start, we didn't really have sufficient funds for these expenses. We rely on our salaries, two credit cards, some savings. But God is really good, my wife's Travel Business had been earning well & it funds for all of Ta Niji's needs until the Covid19 came & battered the whole travel industry. With the increased medical and hospitalization expenses now, our cash is diminishing and credit cards are reaching their limits.

Friends, we sincerely ask for your help. Please support our campaign. Please help us give Ta Niji all the opportunity available for her to recover. She deserves to regain her health, live longer and bask in the sun. Before her ALS, she was fun-loving, talkative and well-trusted by the people in her barangay. She served as a Barangay Health Worker & she was always eager to help people in need.

Thank you for your generosity. I'll be praying for everyone reading this post. May God grant you and your families with good health, safety and the blessings that you've always longed for.

Your financial assistance will help pay for all the medical and hospitalization expenses and everything necessary for Ta Niji's well being.

We humbly ask you to include Ta Niji in your prayers. We also need more prayer warriors.

Thank you very much and God bless us all.

Sincerely,

Francis

P.S. In the video you'll see Ta Niji having a therapy last Feb 27 2020. It just stopped when this covid-19 pandemic struck us all. Because she can't go out and undergo her routine therapies, her body weakened. Even though we don't have photos of her in the hospital right now, we have in our phones her photos long before this.
