Thank you for taking the time to read this and to even consider to donate to me and my little girl. In Feb of 2014 I was diagnosed with stage 2 colon cancer and just one month later at the age of 43 I found out I was finally going to be a father. Luckily the doctors found out about my cancer early enough and I had immediate surgery with no chemo or radiation needed and was in remission by end of 2014. In Nov that year my daughter Doriyana was born and I felt as if she was an Angel sent to me as a blessing for my new profound outlook on life.
Unfortunately last summer I had a relapse with advanced stages and was given 6 months to live. I chose not to do chemo/radiation as an option because in 1985 I lost my father to Melanoma skin cancer which coincidentally he was the same age as I am now. The last time I saw him he was so doped up he did not even recognize or even know who I was. I said to myself if my time is short then it will be on my terms and with the ability to remember what truly makes me happy in this world which is being with my 2 year old little angel.
In the last 9 months I have undergone advanced clinical trial immunotherapy treatments in the Nordics and Croatia which is proving so far to be working. However this type of treatment comes with a very heavy price tag as it is only offered here in Europe from limited private healthcare providers because it is still in clinical trial stages. My continued treatments, battling and outlook for 2017 is positive with down staging and remission on the horizon in hopes for a survival rate past 5 years and ultimately to miraculously be cured of this horrible disease.
I have been fortunate to have a successful career and been able to manage these private healthcare costs since being diagnosed in 2014 which so far has been about 250K USD, although I am not out of the woods yet with these costs moving forward. I am in no way asking for people to donate this kind of money however every little bit will help. My girlfriend, daughter and I have had to move in with my in-laws in the country side of Croatia so your donations will go a long way in providing the basics for my little girl this year. (Food, diapers and clothing as she grows like a mushroom just add water:)
As of now only a couple of people knew about my condition and I have been more or less battling and managing everything on my own and trying to pretend to be like superman so that my loved ones do not worry about me endlessly. Thanks to my friend Jenny who sent you this link who also is a cancer survivor has convinced me that it’s ok to ask for help and share my request since most people in some way, shape or form have had cancer personally affect their family, friends or loved ones.
All thoughts, messages and prayers are extremely kind and will be heartfelt for us during these tough times, THANK YOU!!!!!!
