"My child wants to learn!"
"I couldn't get to school because there was no transportation and fuel was expensive";
"We didn't get enough heating during the winter in class because of the high cost of fuel";
"We learned in torn books because I couldn't buy new ones";
" They put me out of class because my father didn't pay the school fees";
"I spend my day at school hungry, we don't have enough food and bread at home";
"This year, this Christmas and at all occasions, I didn't get a toy to play with like the rest of the kids!"
In these terms, we faced children in many areas, after a lengthy tour and thousands of interviews we conducted through cooperative work between associations, in order to study the needs in official schools, especially in Baalbek-Hermel area, those Lebanese and Syrian children expressed themselves in these innocent terms, which indicated a real problem sweeping the general educational situation, the administration of schools, students, and parents. The basic needs we have heard through interviews are: 1-Providing a daily food ration for each child in schools
2- Securing support for the transfer of students to schools because the cost of fuel is beyond the ability of parents to afford it.
3- To provide support for school fees that many parents are unable to pay, threatening the next school year through an unprecedented number of school dropouts.
4- Securing the school bag containing books and stationery is sufficient for a full school year for each student.
5- Providing heating support in schools, in winter, especially since the period requiring fuel extends from November to the end of April.
6- Distributing toys to children in schools during public holidays and bringing pleasure to them.
Help us to let them live their childhood, so that they are not deprived of their most basic needs, food and education.
