To whoever read this: I would appreciate if you could help me see one of my life goals achieved; I want to become a polyglot.

I have always thought that learning a new language is learning a new world. When I was a kid, I did not know there were more languages other than Spanish. I started learning English when I got into middle school. Sadly, education in my country is not the best, and if you add all the social and economic struggles that living in a family of ten involves, well… you can imagine the outcome. I did not learn as much as I would have wanted. But I did not give up; I wanted to learn, and I wanted to share my learning with other people through teaching, so I kept studying for myself until I achieved the B2 level of proficiency in English (according to the CEFR). It took me quite a long time to get it, and I think it was because I never had the chance to be in an actual English speaking environment: a place where I could listen, read, speak and be understood. For that reason, this time I want to be immersed in an environment where no Spanish is spoken so I am forced to learn as fast as possible. I decided to learn Japanese because I like challenges, and it is the first out of the three Asian languages I want to be proficient in (Japanese, Korean, and Mandarin Chinese in that order). Learning a Romance language might be easier, I know it. For that reason, I want them to be the last ones I learn. There is also another reason why I chose Japanese to be my third language. Japan is known worldwide for its quality in regards to education, and since I want to share (through teaching) all the languages I study, I would love to learn how they teach so I can become as good as them.

Be assured that everything you decide to help me with will be used to cover only the tuition and the housing fees for a whole year. How will I get to Japan or how will I pay for my food, visa, paperwork, etc…, that is on my own. Once I finish and get certified in Japanese, I will return to my country and work as a teacher for a couple of years while I save for my next learning experience.

It has never been easy for me to ask for help, but I think everyone needs and deserves some help once in a while. And when it is about help, there is no measure; everything is huge. Thank You.
