What's going on?

One February day, the lives of millions of Ukrainians have turned upside down. By far, millions of Ukrainian children have been left homeless and traumatised, thousands have been left orphaned, hundreds have been injured, and more than hundred have been killed in this horrible war.

Now, imagine being a kid and living with the air raid sirens every single day. Imagine being a refugee child, scared and traumatised, in a foreign country, surrounded by strangers, not understanding their language.

As adults, we have failed them, we simply couldn’t protect them. We won’t be able to erase this war from their memories, but we can help them build a better future, despite what they’ve been put through.

What is our solution?

This is why we want to create Next Generation UA, a nonprofit that will focus on children’s physical and mental wellbeing, education and recreation, to help the little Ukrainians (refugees or not) cope, and to give them the necessary means to build happy, balanced lives. Because every child deserves it - and these kids have been ripped off a huge part of their childhood. What we can do today, is help them to become better adults than we are.

But in order to launch officially so we're able to raise funds and organise actual help, we need to go through a wall of bureaucracy: purchasing the rights for a pre-registered nonprofit and registering it with a new board of directors, a new name, and a new mission costs a lot. This is the main reason we're launching this crowdfunding and asking for help, to sustain the administrative and registration expenses, as well as to launch a solid marketing campaign so more people find out about our project and join forces to help the little Ukrainians.

What do we need the money for?

10,500 will be paid to purchase a pre-existing nonprofit organisation + registration fees and additional costs for opening a bank account

2,000 will be our digital marketing budget so we can effectively spread the word and make our nonprofit known in the world - yes, we might sound ambitious, but to achieve our goal of building a better future for Ukrainian kids, we need to educate the world about the biggest humanitarian crisis since WW2 that is now happening in Ukraine

1,500 will be our initial budget to cover the costs of the fundraising and onsite marketing events planned for as soon as we're official

What exactly are we planning to do as a nonprofit?

Once you help us launch Next Generation UA, it will become a project focusing on four main areas of work:

healthcare, by assisting chronically ill refugee children or those currently undergoing treatment, as well as Ukrainian children in need of urgent interventions or those injured/disabled as a result of this terrible war;

mental health, by providing psychological assistance in Ukrainian language to refugee children and those traumatised by the atrocities of war;

education, by providing Ukrainian children with study abroad options, placements in host families for international exchange, language holiday courses, and study abroad scholarships for exceptional students;

art, culture and recreation, by organising the activity holidays and summer camps abroad, artistic residencies for talented children, and lectures/meeting with outstanding personalities.

Who we are?

We're a group of Ukrainian expats (students, entrepreneurs, scientists and even one blogger) who live all across Europe. Before the war started in our beloved home country, we've all had different lives, various jobs, and connected occasionally as old friends would normally do. But what's happening Ukraine couldn't leave us indifferent. After the initial shock had passed, we reunited altogether over a Zoom call (thanks, technology!) to share our pain and despair, but also to brainstorm the ideas of how we could help - in a real, tangible way. This is how the idea of Next Generation UA was born. Since that moment we've been working on this project 24/7 to make this dream real, while also keeping our day jobs and volunteering with Ukrainian refugees in Romania, Poland and Latvia.

What is your role in this project?

We’re appealing to you, because we need a helping hand to make this nonprofit come to life. Literally ANY help would be so appreciated. For only €3, a price of a cup of coffee, you'll contribute to our miracle-in-making, taking us one step closer to our goal of changing the lives of Ukrainian kids affected by this terrible war.
