Kurt Angelo P. Cabangon, 12-yo Filipino, is currently battling a medical condition that Dr. Paul Atienza, Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon of De La Salle University Medical Center Dasmarinas Cavite (DLSUMC) identified as Bone Tuberculosis or Pott's Disease.

This condition started as a shoulder and neck muscle pain early March of 2020. Kurt has undergone a sequence of X-Ray and physical therapy to find the situation getting worse. It was last June 18, when he started feeling numbness of his legs causing him inability to walk on his own. June 25 when he was subjected for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) from where we found out that an infection has developed and engulfed his spine causing deformity of the bone and the pus has been putting pressure towards his spinal cord.

Kurt is now admitted at DLSUMC and has undergone spine surgery. The surgery is for the doctor to remove the pus and replace the damaged bone with titanium. The operation was successful but he still needs to remain in the hospital for post-surgery care, healing of wounds, pain-relief, and monitoring of the progress of his lower body to allow him get in control of it and eventually get back to walking. This will take time from 2-4 weeks or more depending on his recovery rate.

The surgery already entailed almost Php 500,000 (USD 10,000) in total expense and his bill is still running at a rate of Php 10,000/day (USD 200).
