Kidney for Maria Ines Pastor

Please help us fund a new kidney for Ines Pastor, Teresiana graduate Year —1977.—.

She’s always been a strong, determined, self-supporting woman until her kidney started to fail. She had chronic kidney failure on 2003 (end stage renal failure).She was finally forced to leave a job she loved, flying as a stewardess for Philippine Airlines.

After one year of dialysis her doctor declared that she needed a kidney transplant to improve her quality of life. Her first transplant was in 2004, this kidney started to fail after 3 months and 2 years after she was back on dialysis for the next 2 years. She had her second kidney transplant in 2008, which lasted for 10 yrs. Her first transplant was funded by PAL. Her second by family and friends.

While on her transplanted kidneys, she has been on anti-rejection drugs and steroids for many years and these drugs have taken a toll on her body. In 2011 she needed a double hip replacements as she was about to need a wheelchair to get around. This was funded again by family and friends.

Through all this, Ines has kept a brave face, rarely complaining. Still reaching out to help others in need.

She turned 60 in January and her second transplanted kidney is failing again. She now has to go to dialysis 3 times a week. She still drives herself to her dialysis at 6 in the morning, even if she is feeling so weak and drained.

Her treatment and care has taken a toll on her family’s resources and she needs a lot of help for her to have another transplant.

Please help this strong, brave lady to live a good productive life.
