My name is Keren Espina. I grew up in Saudi Arabia but is now in Manila, Philippines to pursue a Physical Therapy degree in the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (University of the City of Manila). I am currently in the Junior Year and am planning to pursue Medicine soon after.
This October, I have been accepted to go to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam for a Medical Volunteering Program. I will have the chance to be with doctors and nurses in Vietnam to gain greater understanding between the systems here and there. I will be placed in a local Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Hospital to learn more and acquire more knowledge that will also be necessary. Not just that, I will be able to share my knowledge and little of the skills I have to the people of Vietnam and I will be able to help them in a different number of ways.
I believe that a little help goes a long way; and a little help can make a great impact into one person's life. I have a great belief in compassion and how much it can impact a generation. This motivated me to continue this trip.
I have to save $ 1449 to be able to volunteer. My parents are overseas workers and they barely earn this amount of money. I am currently trying to raise funds as well through selling necklaces & bracelets. However, I haven't really sold much and that is why I am trying to raise funds through this site.
Here's a breakdown of my expenses:
Registration Fee: $ 279
Program Fee: $ 420
Plane Ticket: $ 500
Weekly Allowance: $ 200 ($ 100 / wk)
Weekly Training Fee: $ 50 ( $ 25 / wk)
I will greatly appreciate all your help and I will gladly share my stories with you and how much I've learned once I get home from Vietnam.
For those without credit cards, you may also support me through sending money in my local bank
