Hello, my name is Quincy Nelly. I initiated this fundraising event to benefit a special young man named Kelvon Lewis. He will turn 21 this month. Anyone who knows him knows his life's struggles. For those who don't know him, knowing that reaching 21 is a miracle. I have known him for more than 10 years, and I can honestly say that he is an extraordinary person. Even if he doesn't have a voice you can hear, arms that can move, legs that can walk; he communicates and touches every heart he encounters.
Some people think he is unworthy to grow up in his own home, and work hard to place him in a facility, refusing to fund his care and survival. Kelvon requires 24-hour care, and as you know, facilities are difficult for able-bodied people, let alone those who need constant attention.
21 years is a milestone for many young people; it is twice that for Kelvon. For a fully functional person, 21 means freedom, privilege and opportunity, but for Kelvon it means restriction, reduction, and denial.
As we celebrated the 21 years of achievements the Lord has given Kelvon, I asked for help to allow Kelvon to grow in his home. A lot is needed, especially when the support of the medical field and its providers is sometimes non-existent and very lacking.
Kelvon's has only one part-time nurse; this means his mother has to spend DAYS days awake to dispense medicine, change bedding, and communicate with the doctor to make sure he feels comfortable. Therefore, Kelvon needs to move to another part of the house. That part of the house needs to be changed. These funds will be used to make these changes so that his mother can continue to take care of her son.
Your support will be of great help in this fight for the health of Kelvon and his mother. Any and every donation is appreciated, if nothing else, your prayers are needed.
Thank you in advance and special regards to those who have been fighting for Kelvon.
God bless you and keep you in grace, peace and love.
Happy 21st birthday Kevin! ! !
