LATEST UPDATE as of June 6, 2023 | around 9:00pm to 10:00pm (PH TIME):

Our Tita She coded 5 times in the ICU. She was pronounced dead after a couple of resuscitations. She fought with all her might yesterday. She was in great pain. But now, she will rest in peace. We know, as a family, that she will be happier in the arms of our Lord.

This link will still be accessible as the fight is still not yet over. Our family still need to pay for the hospital bill amounting to more or less Php 210,000.00. The hospital let our Tita She went home in exchange to a promissory note that we will pay the amount within 1 month.

Another day, another battle to win!

I am Alyzza Pera, niece of Sherry (She Pera-Tomo. My aunt, Tita She, had been diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer last December 2021. The cancer already metastasized to other parts of her body (liver, lung, and bones). Since then, she had undergone series of chemotherapies, blood transfusion sessions due to low hemoglobin level and also had a successful breast surgery. For a year, she had been going in and out of the hospital with all her might and spirit. She had endured series of physical, emotional, mental and even financial difficulties for the past 1 and a half year. She’s been battling cancer and kicking its ass with all her strength every now and then.

Tita She stayed very positive and strong despite what she’s going through. She would always remind herself that she will “keep on fighting” this battle for her family (she’s married with 2 young children, ages 15 and 13). She even launched a shirt with a phrase — “Keep fighting” as a fundraiser to aid her financial challenges last year. She would always smile and laugh through the pain. She would always carry her own feet and drag them to walk every morning even if its too painful for her. She would do what the doctors told her to do. Eat this, eat that. Don’t do this, don’t do that. And she’s ok with it as long as she survives.

Not until 3 days ago. She was rushed in the hospital with a very bad head ache. She lost consciousness at home (in Batangas Philippines) and in the hospital while she waited to be checked by a doctor. When it’s her turn already, she was advised to be transferred in another hospital. She needed to be admitted right away. After a few hours, she got transferred to the ICU. She couldn’t remember anything, she lost her consciousness again. Her CT scan showed that cancer has already metastasized to her brain.

UPDATE AS OF JUNE 6, 2023:

Our Tita She’s internal organs have been shutting down. She was advised to undergo a couple of procedures including inserting a catheter. As of today, Tita She has 5 different doctors — an attending physician, one for lungs, one for cancer, one for brain, a dietician. She was also referred to nephro/ kidney and surgeon for ij catheter insertion. She’s already intubated and hooked in a mechanical ventilator, also with ngt and a plan for dialysis today.

Currently, Tita She is admitted at Daniel Mercado Medical Center. Her running bill is already Php 200,000.00 (as of this morning). She was advised to still stay in the ICU for which will surely double her current bill. There will also be couple of procedures that Tita She will undergo today which will need an additional Php 75,000.00 (estimate only). There’s no definite date on when she will be able to move into a regular room. She is still under doctor’s observations and close monitoring to plan for a radiotherapy session once stable.

All I can say as one of her nieces is that, our Tita She is a FIGHTER! And she will never back down. That’s why we, as her family (both Tomo and Pera Family), would like to keep on fighting this life battle with her.

We humbly ask your kind hearts for assistance in giving our Tita (Aunt) She a lot more chances of being with us and most especially her husband and 2 young children.
