Karl’s Insomnia Fundraiser

I'm a 32-year-old from the island of Malta. Since August 2019 I've been suffering from steadily worsening insomnia (death of my sleep drive) and have been unable to sleep without medicines since then. Currently on [redacted, high dose] olanzapine, 1.5mg Risperidone, 75mg clomipramine, 90mg Mianserin, 25mg promethazine, and 2mg clonazepam.

I haven't felt sleepy in 2 years, only exhausted. In other words, I have no 'sleep drive'. Without taking medication I cannot sleep at all. The longest I've gone without sleep is 9 days, after 9 days of not taking medication. What's weird is that my insomnia "progressed" since its inception in 2019.

For a year and a half before my insomnia started, I suffered excruciating chest pain that would only trigger when I lay and sat in certain positions), sensation of inflammation in my muscles, and and EXTREME worsening of my IBS.

At the very start of the insomnia, 7.5mg olanzapine was enough to knock me out for 8 hours. Over the months and years, I've needed to take more medication to get quality sleep. If you are a medical student or a doctor and think you might be able to help, let me know by commenting on my latest video.
