Let's save the community center of Karaivantsa!

Karaivantsa is a small but peaceful village, located 6km from Dryanovo in the region of Gabrovo.

At the beginning of the 20th century, this village experienced a prosperous period when some of its stone builders, known for their know-how, traveled around Bulgaria (and world) to build buildings.

In the heart of the village, part of this heritage can be found: a school, a theater dating from the beginning of the century, a church, and an imposing town hall.

Today all this heritage is in danger:

• The roof of the school collapsed, taking with him part of walls.
• The steeple of the church collapses. However, the committee of the Dryanovo church has launched a study to carry out work to remove the bell tower and protect the roof that will safeguard the Orthodox heritage of the village.
• As for the theater: part of the roof fell last winter, but it is still standing!

That's why we are launching this campaign to save the village theater.

Save the heritage of a village is to respect the memory of the ancestors but also the cultural and historical traces of a country.

This theater has had many gatherings until the end of the 90's. White and black pictures presented are from 1997 when the building celebrated his 100th anniversary.

Purpose of the campaign

The purpose of this campaign is to repair the roof in order to preserve the beauty and history of the building. It's an emergency, works need to start before the winter.

If the funds collected exceed the amount of roof repair work, then it will be possible to consider a restoration of the theater and, perhaps one day, life will resume within its walls.
