Medical Fund for Susan Roque

I am writing to all of you on behalf of Susan Roque, who, amidst this pressing pandemic, is going through an even tougher time having to deal with an even heavier burden.

On March 18, Susan was rushed to the hospital due to a sudden loss in appetite, dehydration and several other pains she felt. She was admitted to the hospital that same night and tests were done to find the culprit of her discomfort. After initial screening, she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Cervical Cancer, however, the doctors still needed to do a biopsy on her to identify which kind of tumor she had. At this stage, the cancer has already affected her kidneys, which has caused a sudden rise in her creatinine, and calls for immediate dialysis. The doctors will be unable to do the biopsy without addressing the issues of the kidneys first.

On March 20, they had to make the tough decision to have her discharged from the hospital due to the piling up of medical expenses. All their savings have also already been exhausted, and they are now looking for all means possible to be able to proceed with the treatments needed.

As of this writing, they are yet to commence with the dialysis, which was advised to be urgently done. If not done soon, further complications may happen, which could also make the biopsy impossible to do. Dialysis needs to be done, until they are able to control the creatinine levels, and she will have enough strength and stability to undergo the treatment of the cancer.

What makes it even more difficult for them is mobility. Due to the Enhanced Community Quarantine, their options are very limited to select hospitals, as having to travel further may be difficult.

I am reaching out to appeal to your kind hearts to extend a helping hand to alleviate their family of this financial burden. Their resources are slowly depleting and any form of assistance will surely be appreciated.
