Campaign Story
We believe every kid should get the chance to learn to swim!
2019
In 2019 Oceanman Thailand took place in Klong Muang Beach, Krabi. Over 500 swimmers from all over the world participated and competed over various distances in this fun-filled yet challenging event. Among the athlete field was a large number of children. Unfortunately, none of the local children, living at Klong Muang Beach were able to participate in this event due to financial restraints and the lack of swimming skills necessary. We wanted to change this.
2020
At the beginning of 2020, we started to train 20 students from the local Klong Muang School, for several hours a week to become confident and competent open water swimmers. The ultimate goal: Participate and complete the Oceanman 1km Kids Race. 12 students entered the race and all completed the 1km OCEANMAN race. An amazing achievement, considering that most of the students could not swim at the beginning of the year.
2022
After a pause due to covid, we were able to assemble our JUNIOR OCEAN TEAM 2022 with the goal to have our junior swimmers participate in the upcoming OCEANKIDS race on 11-December 2022.
2023 and beyond
In order to continue the program and train kids, we do require THB 5,000/child to cover equipment, logistics, food & drinks after training, admissions, etc.

Final Step: Openwater Training

9 from our 13 students have qualified for the openwater (ocean) training. The next and final milestone for qualifying for the OCEANMAN race is 2 x 1km in the ocean. 6 weeks till the race!

Besides the 2 x swimming sessions per week, we have also started to train outside the water. Next week, all kids must be able to swim 500m in the pool to quality for the one-month training in the ocean. 8 weeks till OCENMAN 2022...

Great news! Oceanman International has confirmed that the Asian Championship in Krabi will go ahead as planned.
