September 2018, John Paul was on his way to his dorm at Makati after work, he received multiple missed calls from his brother. He was bothered about the calls, texted his brother and receive another call. Then it happen one of the worst thing that can happen to anyone, his mother got stroked. He visited her mother in the hospital and became her watcher for some nights and get back to work on weekdays. As he visited her mother again at the hospital he was not feeling well for the week, he then get a checkup on the hospital where his mother is confined. Things were getting worse, he was diagnose with a kidney failure, he and his family were very devastated.

John Paul was not yet confine, he was advise to resign on his job since it may contribute to the worsening of the kidney failure. He takes lots medication that can help improve his kidney functions. His mother was discharge from the hospital, but about a week later he was the one to be confine to the hospital. Things were not going well, his family was advice to take him to a bigger hospital for an emergency dialysis since his state was really bad and life threatening. He stayed so long on the hospital plus his mothers confinement leading to his and his family savings all used up.

His dialysis session is for 3x a week and every session is for 4 hours, he also have an injection ("Epoetin beta") every session that will prevent his hemoglobin to drop. When he was confine and was on a really bad state, he almost give up the idea of living, but his family and friends were there for him and that gives him strength to live.
