INSIGHT – not just a theatre

"ART is" is the first multimedia show in Latvia, which will be staged at the digital art center "Digital Art House". The show offers the viewer direct interaction with the space and the actors. The scenography of the show “ART is” was created using digital projections, which will allow the viewer to plunge into in the performance.

"Is there art?" and "Why is it necessary?" - two fundamental questions that form the basis of the show.

"ART is" suggests the audience an opportunity to collectively understand the experience gained during lockdown, as well as to discover a new way of communicating with the revitalized world through art.

The performance scenography was created using digital projections, which allow the viewer to fully immerse themselves in the action of the performance.

This project would draw the attention of both theater lovers and people who have previously been avoiding theater. After the performance in "Digital Art House" in Latvia we are planning to develop theatrical performances in other foreign countries' digital art centers.

INSIGHT team

The INSIGHT theater platform focuses on the creation of modern performances using new theatrical techniques and solutions, as well as the organization of performances, theatrical parties and other public events.

Valeria Mizgare is a student of the Master's program at the Latvian Academy of Culture. Within the framework of the project, Valeria develops and stages performances.

"Art is an idea."

Akim Sarkisov is a student of the production department of GITIS. Akim is responsible for production activities and attraction of sponsors.

"Art is the Universe."

Mark Kostritsa is a student of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Latvia. Mark is in charge of the financial and legal issues.

"Art is work."

Evgeniya Sukhorukova is a student at the Riga International School of Economics. In the context of the project, Evgeniya is engaged in marketing and public relations management.

"Art is freedom."

Funding is necessary to create art. It is very difficult to attract a sponsor due to the current situation in the country, since entrepreneurship also needs support. We believe that art is created not only by the artist, but also by the people who perceive it. Only together we are able to embody the idea of the performance, which will allow us to feel the magic of art again.

In this project, the creation of computer graphics is the costliest stage. In order to meet the estimated cost of digital design we are looking for funding.

The premiere of the play "ART is" is scheduled for early May, when restrictions in Latvia are believed to be eased. The performance is going to be played on a regular basis. The number of spectators at the performance is possible both with a two-meter distance (84 seats) and without it (110 seats).
