Hi, my name is Marko. I'm running an independent - non-political and regional orientated website in Slovenia.

I'm suffering from mental illness for more than ten years now and am not employable. However, one needs to live earning something and I don't want to wait for people to help while doing nothing.

I'm a rockstar when it comes to writing and I am capable of publishing 10-15, even 20 articles a day. I often focus on minorities and people from the margins of society. Readers adore my interviews. I am the only author of the articles and when I get sick ... people lack news and stories. However, all of this does not bring me any financial benefits as Slovenia is very small and there are no contributors willing to invest money, especially not on independent media.

I managed to gather more than 600,000 visitors to my website during one year running. I also managed a youth-orientated hockey website which had more than a million visits ... let me repeat ... a children hockey organization ... and we are living in a country populated only 2 millions of souls.

Pretty much every cent would be appreciated and would help an independent media to live its life ... but to be honest - my calculations showed that 1000 EUR monthly would cover my complete costs regarding the job (that includes travel costs etc ...)
