Inclusive Theater KIT

KIT Inclusive Theater -- is a unique project that allows teens and young adults with different disabilities showcase their talent, learn new skills and advocate for their independence.

In Kazakhstan, after graduating from 9th grade, most people with disabilities have no where to go. Under 10% of people with disabilities will go to college or find a job. The rest are left on their own, to be taken care of by their families.

Our pilot program strives to teach them necessary skills to lead independent lives, and in the future find and keep a job. We are starting by creating an Inclusive musical, to advocate for the rights and abilities of people with special needs. Our school is absolutely free and volunteer based. Our first performance proved successful, and it was all done with the help of ordinary people and families of our participants.

This time, we want to expand our work, include more people with disabilities, hire professional acting coaches, speech specialists, dance coaches etc, and show to the world how talented and capable of anything our cast is.

For that, we need your help! We need:
- a place where we can practice (pay rent)
- materials for making costumes
- hire acting/dance/singing coaches, public speaking coaches, cooking coaches, sewing teachers, costume designers etc
- promotional materials - to promote our next show, and promote our school, to include more people with special needs
- salary to our actors (we want to award our actors with disabilities and special needs for their hard work)

We will start our new and improved classes in August, and your help is much appreciated! You can follow our progress on instagram @kit_astana. We promise to update our page with classes and activities that are going on, and send you information on our success.

Our actors, students of our Inclusive Theater school are teens and young adults with disabilities, with nowhere to go, and nowhere to learn. Our classes are the last resort for many of them. Many of them, do not socialize with anyone outside of our classes. By supporting us, you are supporting young generation of people with special needs, who can have a bright future in front of them! Only together we can help them succeed in this life, and be independent and contributing members of our society!
