DONATE NOW just $5 Minimum DonationMy name is Jennifer Earp, I am 49 and find myself at a complete catastrophic loss. Not through a single disaster but through a series of events spanning the last 5 years. I am asking for help to replace a laptop and 1 software package. My Laptop was a workhorse. I invested the last of my money into it to start a Virtual Admin and Graphic Design business. The laptop was entrusted to a friend of a friend who worked on computers. The Computer Guy Mike was to load all my graphic and office software and anti-virus protection programs. He said I would have the laptop back in a couple days. After a couple days i tried to get in touch with him with no luck. When I was finally able to get an answer he claims that my laptop was stolen from his vehicle. So sorry...
My current situation is
1. Housing - Homeless (staying with a friend). I was in a LT relationship that became unhealthy and had to leave suddenly. That was my New Year surprise.
2. Vehicle - Repossessed That was my Christmas surprise. Obviously, I knew I was behind but i was trying to catch up; unfortunately, I was not able to in time. Payment was accepted and car was taken same day. I don't have a spare 8k laying around to get the vehicle back
3. Employment - Laid off since Nov 22, 2018... Thanksgiving Surprise... I was working as a designer/graphic artist and loved it. It was a new career path for me as I had always walked a very safe path in employment. However, when my mother passed a two years ago she asked that I change career paths and do something with my artwork. She was an amazing artist who opted to stay on a safe path (nursing) rather than take a chance on her artwork to make a living. I promised her I would try. And so i began to learn all I needed to learn to be able create graphic art and translate it to printed materials. So, I presented my self to a local printer as an apprentice of sorts. When i lost that job I began to build my plan to start my own business. I have the skills to carve out a living wage for myself. I love creating graphics, and oddly SQL coding for database mining, VB formulations for excel data mining. I am an excellent organizer and have a wide variety of administrative skills. I have built a plan to launch a VA service and graphic design house. To that end, prior to losing my vehicle, I worked odd jobs to gather the funds to get my car payment caught up and buy a laptop with software to launch my dream and create a future for myself that was defendant upon my own commitment.
I don't know what else to say other than...
Humbled and Hopeful.
If you read this and are able to assist you have my gratitude. And once I get the computer up and going i would be happy to create a graphic image of your choice to say thank you.
If you read this and are in a tight spot (like me) I wish you luck and strength. And ask only for thoughts and hopes in return.
