Improving the Women’s empowerment center in Mamburi, Mombasa

The women’s empowerment program started as an initiative of Peter Ochieng at the beginnings of 2019. The program seeks to teach and develop skills in women’s to ensure they have a way to develop themselves but also a way to have an economical income to improve the quality of life of their families.

Many of the women’s who actually attend the program can not afford the amount that should be paid to cover the costs of the program, so actually the courses are being sustained by volunteer donations and also from some women’s payments.

Actually we held 2 types of courses: braids making and dress making. However, our goal is to maintain this courses over the time and expand the portfolio of the courses. Costs mainly consist of teachers fees, maintenance of the class rooms, rents of the classrooms and equipment and materials for the courses.
