Wasanii Kidogo (Little Artists) is a team of Belgian and Kenyan volunteers who offer a space which provides schoolchildren in Nairobi with access to making and seeing arts & crafts. In Kenya, children's arts and crafts materials are a luxury which most people cannot afford.

Wide-eyed kids appear at our studio every day. We have sketchbooks, paints & brushes, pencils, knitting yarns, macrame ropes, buttons, papier-mâché, scissors, glue, music instruments, and much more. We also hold ecstatic dance* afternoons and help children express themselves through various forms of art.

We have created a small permaculture garden where we learn how to grow our own organic vegetables and fruits.

"We need to increase the dependency and belief of young children on their passion; be it dance, music, arts and crafts, growing vegetables, etc. Wasanii Kidogo works in creating awareness about the importance of art education and provides a free space and materials for impoverished children who are passionate about being creative and want take it forward in their lives.”

How can you help?

You can support us with a single donation or a monthly contribution starting at only €1. Your generosity will enable us to buy crafting materials such as paint, drawing paper, glue, pencils, etc... All donations go straight to the children. This is an ongoing project.

Thank you in advance for your support and kind donations!

Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram to see what we have been upto.

*Ecstatic dance is a free form of dancing in which the music is the teacher. In this form of dance, there is no structure or steps to follow or any particular way to dance. We dance without shoes and make a connection with the Earth through our feet, we communicate authentically through our body and we celebrate life in all its aspects.
