Dear Friends and Family,
Thank you for taking the time to read. Recently, our mom had a memorial tribute who passed away on September 27, 2019. She was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma which could be fatal if untreated. On July 22, before mom's birthday, she complained of lower abdomen discomforts and after being seen by doctors and undergoing ultrasounds and an MRI, it was noted she had partial obstruction in Recto-sigmoid with a 10 cm mass. A biopsy was conducted and the result was Adenocarcinoma on 31 July. I was home recently and we discussed options for her care. She refused to do the surgery, but recently due to some issues, she had emergency surgery (Exploratory Laparotomy) on 22nd September after my return to Bahrain. Today, after a few days of complications, going in and out of a coma, and her organs slowly shutting down, she took her last breath.
My family asks that you please pray for her soul. Due to her medical bills totaling -6 days/450,000 PHP ($8,632 USD). Her insurance only covering a small portion of that, we are asking for your generous donations to assist our family with anything you can afford. In order to claim my mom's death insurances, the release of the death certificate is needed. The hospital won't release it until it is fully paid.Every little bit will help. We intend to use the donations for the release of her death certificate in order to claim her other death insurances as well, and whatever might be claimed will be paid towards her pending medical bills. She was very scared to proceed with the treatment given to her as it is very expensive in the Philippines and her medical insurance can't cover it all and the last thing she wanted was to be a financial burden to her family. I'm trying to assist my family for her burial and funeral expenses.
As you know, in the Philippines, money is needed for survival especially during her post-operative treatment. As per the doctor's recommendation, she needed to maintain the medication daily and my family spent their last pennys buying the medication since it's not covered anymore by the insurance. Once again, I'm asking all my friends and family to please consider making a donation as this will ease the financial burden of my family during this horrible time.
A little bit of mom and dads love story that inspires me a lot. They were high school sweethearts married over 30 years. My Dad is 57 now and has worked abroad to support my family for many years. They both celebrated their birthdays in July, Dad (13th) and Mom (24th).
Thanks to my extended family for assisting my mom until her last breath.
Cristina, my mother, who was a public teacher knew the importance of schooling - and the student’s education was equally important to her. She helped sponsor the education of many students. The sponsored students of my mom should realize the importance of education so that, just like my mum, they can encourage and even support others, let alone supporting themselves as independent individuals.
Today, I am proud to say that I’m lucky to have had a great mother and I am doing this campaign for my mum sharing her story so that everyone could bear witness how my mum sponsored relatives and students to send them to high school and for vocational courses. She is my inspiration for doing this campaign and this time for my mum's funeral assistance because she deserved it so she can continuously inspired other students by giving them a chance to study and have motivation in life.
I have enclosed a copy of all my mom's medical bills.
