I'm an Overseas Filipino worker in Doha Qatar for almost 7 years. I was in my early 20's when I started to work as a waitress in Qatar Intercontinental Hotel in Doha City. I took a chance and grabbed the opportunity even though it was far from my homeland. It was a milestone, a chance that started significant memories of my early adult life. I got promoted in 2015 as an Engineering Admin through my hard work, dedication and perseverance. My job was challenging, strenuous but inspiriting.

Then came November 2019, it was the month that started to turn my life into 360 degrees. I got sick and vomited for a week. Those days were the hardest days when I felt so weak. At first, it was diagnosed as asthma by one of the doctor's clinic. However, after 2 days, I threw-up again and this time it was with blood (hematemesis). My colleague referred me to have another medical check in one of the hospitals in Doha. Then the diagnosis result was a chronic kidney disease which leads my kidneys to function at 8% low. The only way for a complete recovery is through a kidney transplant. The cause of my disease is hypertension and pain killer overdose; pain killers for my dysmenorrhea. I was hospitalized for a week. I went back to my homeland(the Philippines) and had a 2nd opinion in January 2020, but the diagnosis was still the same.

March 2020; the doctor advised me to undergo dialysis. He let me chose either Peritoneal or Hemodialysis. The operation happened on March 22, 2020 as I chose peritoneal dialysis. They inserted a tube(peritoneal catheter) in my under abdomen. On April 14, I started daily dialysis on my own. It was tough but life goes on basically. One hard thing is when COVID-19 came and jeopardized the tourism and hotel industries all over the world and that does not exclude the hotel I'm working in. Since March 19 this year, many people have been jobless and I was not an exception. August 2 when the HR gave me a call to inform that they will not renew my contract and gave me a plane ticket to go home.

And now, as my life has totally change due to my illness. I would like to knock in your kindest heart to fund me for my kidney transplant for a complete recovery. Thank you and God Bless!
