Hi,

I'm proud to introduce you the best child in the world, my son: Catalin. You see him in the video laughing, playing and talking ... but I will never forget the day when we find out that our life with him will be different that we have imagined when he was born. That day was the day when we found out that he was living in Autism Spectrum Disorder’s world.

Up to the age of 3 years no "mama", no "water", no eye contact, nothing just tantrums, crises, wearing gestures, no eating, no sleeping, no communication or playing accordingly with the toys. But one little light in his eyes saying "help me mummy, I want to be part of your world" gave us the power to fight. And we've been fighting for 3 years, hardly, hour by hour; day by day with the limited resources that medicine has given so far.

With support from our family, friends and sponsors, we could pay the treatment sessions that brought him to our world, different than his, as it can be seen now. He learns differently what we consider normal: every concept by pictures and hundreds of repeats and explanations, each small sentence after long and hard work. After 6 months, he learned the difference between YES and NO and in one year the difference between I and YOU ... he learns with pictures support, musical words and very simple sentences / tasks. He misses the imagination and the figurative meaning of the words; his rhythm of achieving abilities is different as ours and his chance to become an independent adult and social accepted is based on ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis).

We started working with 5 therapists and we work hard and we continue to learn to live with Catalin; now, after 3 years we understand the world though his eyes and mind, we hear the musicality out of words we use for him, we understand an environment that causes him anxieties, we hear all the sounds he hears louder than all of us, and everything because we become ONE with him.

A special child needs therapies lessons, shadowing in school, lots of materials and toys, activities and contexts to learn to behave, to react, to hug, to speech, to reply, to eye contact, to focus, to love, to miss, TO LIVE.

Continuing these efforts, we will be able to greatly improve his adult life. But all of them have a cost and I do not talk about our physical effort (because it is not an effort, it is part of us and our family), the problem is money, which sometimes are not enough. Each day of evolution / therapy costs us 50 euro.
