Last week Honduras and some neighboring countries in Central America were hit by hurricane ETA. My home country Honduras was hit hard by this hurricane on November 2. The passage of this hurricane has left the country with unimaginable flooding. We have not seen such dimensions since 1998, when we were hit by Hurricane Mitch, which was also catastrophic for us and from which we could not recover. At the moment we are in a state of emergency! Due to the strong hurricane ETA, many people became homeless, whole cities were flooded, even communication is no longer possible. Every day new landslides, injured and dead people have to be feared as a consequence of the hurricane. People help each other and still rescue those who are stranded on the roof of what is left of their houses - many are still looking for their loved ones.
We are a small country, which is characterized by going forward with a lot of desire and strength. For many years we have fought against adverse situations like natural disasters. Now the Covid pandemic has brought us to our knees and corruption is more evident than ever. We are currently in a crisis that far exceeds our resilience, but we are not giving up.
I am currently a student in Germany. I am very grateful to be able to pursue my professional path in this country. It makes me very sad that I can't be in my country to help, but I also can't stand idly by, so I decided to create this page to ask for support from all the people who can do this. Together with you and the neighboring countries we want to be a great help to the people in Honduras in this critical situation. There is no minimum amount, any kind of donation will be helpful for the development of our country and it will mean a lot to us.
The collected money will be given to various Honduran organizations. These are made up of local people who help those who need it most during this time. With the help of the financial support, the purchase of food, clothing and all other necessary relief supplies can be realized as well as the reconstruction of houses and affected areas.
