This is Hunter, my much loved German shepherd. Hunter is very cheeky and likes to get into trouble (A LOT) but that’s ok. At 11 months old he got out of my yard and was hit by a car. The vet was able to repair his shattered ulna/radius by screwing a plate to the bone, holding it together. Everything was fine until the plate became infected and needed to be removed. After that things looked good. I was constantly finding lumps on Hunter’s front paws but after short doses of antibiotics the lumps would disappear. This year I found another lump on Hunter’s front paw and it was off to the vet again. By this time I was sure that with the aid of my credit card Hunter and I had singularly financed at least one of my Vet’s children to be privately educated!! This time the antibiotics did not work and the lump continued to grow. A biopsy was done on the lump and Hunter was diagnosed as having spindle cell, soft tissue sarcoma (cancer). As a young nursing student who had previously invested a lot of money in Hunter’s health care, my vet was kindly advising me that it was ok to put

Hunter to sleep, which I declined (he’s my friend). Hunter had his surgery and is doing well and again being so, so naughty. The operation cost over $2000 and I am grateful for any support to help cover his medical costs. Obviously I understand that not everyone’s in a situation where they are able to assist but thank you anyway for your time. Bless.
