Campaign Story
8December of 2021 was the most challenging, the saddest and yet the happiest moment of my life. Ironic? Yes, it is.
The 3rd of December was the day that I delivered my two beautiful babies. They are fraternal twins. That day was a surprise as I, and everyone didn't expect that I will be delivering the babies that early. I am just at the 30th week of my pregnancy.
My two babies were born pre-mature and they are so tiny. Ysabella weights 2.86 pounds and Olivia was 3.30. I never got the chance to see them after my delivery as they we're brought directly to NICU. Both of them are having difficulties breathing, but Olivia was the one who experienced more challenges than Ysabella.
On the 4th of December was the night that I prayed the hardest as the Doctors advised us that they have to intubate Olivia. The Doctors did the Endotracheal (through the mouth) intubation. It is used in most emergency situations.
The next morning, was the saddest day of my life. Olivia passed away. She died due to Respiratory Distress and Neonatal Sepsis. I cried so hard, the hardest that could remember. I felt so much pain, that I could hardly breathe. I just wanted to surrender and die that moment as the pain is too much to bear... Then I remember I still have Ysabella and she is fighting. She is fighting so hard as she was able to survive despite her challenges and I know that she is winning.
Ysabella is doing better now, thank God, and we are looking forward for the day that she will be home with us. The Doctors couldn't give us an estimated date yet on when she will be discharged. She still has infection in her blood, her platelet count is constantly getting low and her eyes is still being observed because of Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP).
There has been so many challenges with our family last year. 2021 was the year that hit us the hardest both financially and emotionally. My mother got hospitalized due to stroke... A few months later my father got hospitilized not just once but three times due to hypertension, gallbladder stones and other complications...Then I, delivering my twins too early.
Please help us bring Ysabella home and help us get through this situation. Any amount of donation will be greatly appreciated.
