Hope for Tatay Lito

As of February 6, 2021, my father is still confined in the ICU due to multiple complications; his lungs were filled with fluid; his kidneys have failed to function normally; he suffered from heart attack, he has an enlarged heart; there was something wrong with his thyroid(i can’t keep up with the terms anymore); and for the longest time, he suffers from chronic venous insufficiency(this has been a constant battle for him for almost 30yrs now).

Dearest Potential Donors,

This is the story of our tatay(father).

Last 2017, brain aneurysm hit us hard. We never expected our father to have it. He’s healthy, he moved around a lot and he’s never complained about any sort of pain. He went through 2 brain surgeries. Thankfully, my father recovered slowly but was never the same after being hospitalized for 2 months. We struggled paying his medical bills because he didn’t have any insurance. I still blame myself for not knowing and considering insurance for my parents. Medical bills did not stop after getting out from the hospital. Continous medication and checkup every month is required. My mother, my older brother and I shouldered everything which emptied our savings and put us on loan until 2020. As we are about to save up since my brother and I both have our own families, another storm came before January 2021 ends. My father started vomiting, struggled to breathe, and fainted - he was rushed to the ER. He had a heart attack and was revived. We found out he has an enlarged heart and his lungs were filled with fluid. There was something wrong with his thyroid. His creatinine level was beyond normal despite taking his medicine, his kidney stopped to function. He got tested for covid 19 and had a negative result. He’s in critical condition due to complications and stays in the ICU since January 30. Multiple dialysis were made. Now he has pneumonia and will be tested for covid 19 again. I can only pray that he gets a negative result.

It’s only been a week and we are all drained- mentally, emotionally, and financially. Our old man is fighting real syrong and I can’t give him up, we can’t give him up. We need all the help that we can get for our father. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
