Hope for Lebanon

Hello, my name is Waheed and I am a 13 year old teenager from Lebanon but I live in Oman. Lebanon and its people mean the world to me. Every summer, I always look forward to visiting my home country and seeing my family and friends. This year, It wasn't possible due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On the 4th of August, I was devastated when 2750 tonnes of Ammonium nitrate exploded in the port of Beirut. It blasted out of a warehouse causing 200 people to die, 5000 to get injured, 300,000 to get displaced and a scar in all of our hearts. The streets of Beirut are currently swarming with the homeless, the hungry, the injured, the grieved and the outraged. The country is in a devastating state. Many houses have perished, the economy has collapsed and hunger is more than ever before. There isn’t enough room in hospitals or medical supplies to provide for all those hurt, as well as that, there isn’t enough material to rebuild all those homes, or enough food to keep a starving country alive.

After the series of drastic events this country has had this year, from the forest fires to the economic crisis and COVID-19, the Lebanese are referring to this as the cherry on top of the cake.

I am starting this fundraiser to raise money for various things such as medication, rebuilding homes, food supplies and more in hopes that I can help bring back the Lebanon I remember and to put a smile on the peoples faces who are in need. I will be donating the money we raise here to 3 fundraisers:
