Home destroyed by wildfires!!

Dear all,

I am in real need of help as my home/office, and just about everything in it was destroyed by the wildfires here on Rhodes Greece in July this year 2023.

• My insurance has now advised that I will only be paid 40k euros to build a new home! This has come as a big shock! The minimum living space required is 45 sqms (for a small home). The minimum cost of the build, without furniture, is 55k Euros. I am therefore in great need of an additional 15k Euros please? I will be incredibly grateful for any donation you are able to give towards achieving this amount.
• I am still paying a large mortgage on my original home (which was 100sqms), despite it having been destroyed.
• The last of my savings went on the Civil Engineer and all the costs involved in clearing the house, my lawyer, etc.
• This amount of money will only allow me to build a one bedroom home, a third of the original size with the cheapest materials, and I will no longer have a bedroom for my son Karma when he visits.
• I am currently living and running my business in a friends' wooden hut in the forest with an open-air kitchen and shower, and outside toilet (for which I am truly grateful). With the onset of Winter this situation is clearly more difficult.
• My business (renting villas to tourists) has suffered enormously over the last few years – 50% of my income has gone since COVID, and the fires this year resulted in a lot of cancellations, which has set me back again.
• I am having to buy essentials to live such as warm clothes, mine were all burnt, essential medication, bed linen and toiletries etc, as well as feeding and caring for my rescue animals.
• I am a single adult and therefore only have one income coming in.
• This is my only home, and I am therefore homeless.
