Holistic Compassion for the Poor Families of Napico, Pasig, Philippines

When Heinrick and I saw our friend, Christian participate in a Cell Group, we also joined him. From there, we got to know the Lord Jesus Christ. When I do something wrong, I hear a voice inside of me saying, “Khyle don’t do that.” That’s when I realize that God was transforming me. That’s why I am extremely grateful to Him. In a Cell Group, I got to know Christ more, and learned to pray and do devotions and also share the Word of God to others. Through God’s Word, I came to feel Christ’s sufferings for all of us.

I am also thankful for the generous scholarship financial assistance we receive monthly. We are budgeting this so I can finish my school projects. I am very grateful to God for the Holistic Compassion Foundation and most specially to God for all the blessings. - Khyle

I’ve been living in this community (Napico) for more than 10 years. Years ago, all the trouble that we encounter are quarrels and domestic issues, now it’s killing because of drugs. At night time, I can hear people chasing on the rooftops, keeping me awake all night, for fear of what might happen to us and my son who is into drugs. I am very old, at 69 yrs of age, alone taking care of my son’s 2 kids including Christian. I rely on the financial assistance of Holistic Compassion, where we budget so we can have food. There are many times I dont eat so my grandchildren will be able to attend school with their stomachs full. Although life is extremely hard, I am thank ful to God that I came to know Christ as my Lord. He never ceases to amaze me, because in so many ways, I receive blessings from many different sources. Praise the Lord! Nanay Laling (Christian Garcia’s Guardian)

Since my father was accused of being a drug dealer, he was shot by unidentified men and got killed in the same room where me and my baby brother slept. He was a victim of extra-judicial killing. Even though this was totally devastating for our family, even my grandmother, we continued our walk with the Lord. Through the Holistic Compassion Foundation and the brothers and sisters who guided us and prayed for us, the Cell Group support and the scholarship financial assistance we received regularly, we were encouraged to never give up. God is indeed powerful.

These are the recent visits we made to our dear scholars homes. We had a pleasant chat with either their parents, mostly mothers or grandmothers. Some of the scholars were not present during the visit because they were in school that time. They are living in temporary homes, meaning they do not own the lot but only bought "rights" to live there. This implies that whenever the owner of the parcel of land decides to use the land, they have to go and look for another place to stay. Typical lot size of their residence is 25 sqm or less. Most of them earn their living doing laundry for others, or part time jobs for other households. Most of them do not earn daily. The Holistic Compassion scholarship fund helps them in a little way to fund the kid's daily food and transpo to and from school. To them it's a huge help.

As of September 1, 2016, I am very happy to announce that our SEC has approved our "WIN HOLISTIC COMPASSION FOUNDATION, INC."

This will even facilitate our fund raising efforts, which are needed to make our dreams for the poor community of Napico a progressive reality. Furthermore, multiplication of the number of families in the following years is more possible.

Thank you Team for your efforts in facilitating the arduous task of acquiring an SEC Registration approved. God bless us all!

  • Only 9 scholars made it last 2015. 1 student didn’t make it because of non-submission of report cards and other req’ts despite gracious help. We are seriously helping those who have a willingness to help themselves by studying hard. The parents are mentored in such a way so as to encourage their children to succeed. Else, with a heavy heart, we let go of the precious scholarship and award it to others.
  • Evaluation of 10 additional scholars for 2016-2017 making the total number of scholars to 20 scholars and families.

I intentionally made the first donation today as a seed offering. May this seed multiply in order to fund the vision. Thank you for your interest.

God bless you for responding to God's call to take care of the poor. Here's my financial support, though how small it is, I am sowing it as a seed. To God be the glory.
