Holistic Compassion for the Poor Families of Napico, Pasig, Philippines

Update posted by Rainier Camara On Jul 26, 2018

From Lust of the Flesh to the Fruit of the SpiritI am Marechan Cadimas, mother of one of the scholars, first batch (2015-16). The church was instrumental in showing us God’s plan of salvation for everyone. Now, I am worker at the WIN SM Outreach, as Usher Coordinator and now also am a member of a Life-on-Life Group. I am thankful to all of the leaders in Napico, that patiently discipled me in my desire to grow and get to know the Lord in a deeper way. I believe in the Bible, which I read everyday. Gal 5:16 “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” I thank God that I have learned to be patient and have self-control now that I have the fruit of the Spirit. – Marechan Cadimas (translated from Tagalog)

What I am about to write will probably never be enough to express such infinite gratitude I am feeling towards you, something I will carry for the rest of my life. I am honored to be one of the recipients of the WHCF Scholarship. Thanks to your generous support. I am the first in my family to attend college. Growing up in a less privileged community has not only offered financial and academic challenges but has also helped me realize the value of a college education. I have to work in the morning and attend class in the evening. I’ve searched and looked for a lot of scholarship to help me in my study, and with so many blessings from the Lord, I found WHCF Scholarship. Being part of WHCF Scholarship is a huge blessing for me and my family, receiving the allowance you’re giving lessen the burden in my shoulder. My Journey wasn’t easy at all but through God’s help and provision, the journey was made possible. Well, there are certainly much more to be told that what I have tried to, but some feelings I believe cannot be put into words, so I will keep them in my heart and memory. What I finally want to say is that you, when kindly selecting me for receiving this scholarship and you who made it possible have changed my life forever, be sure that for better. You have contributed in a wonderful and unexplainable manner to my academic knowledge and my future career. I am Joan Santos, a graduate of BSBA Marketing Management at Jesus Reigns Christian college, with all respect and gratitude, Thank you so much for all the support and privilege. God bless!

I am Ma. Lea Calixtro, all the more seeking the Lord and now serving Him. I take my devotions at 3AM and I remembered John 14:15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” And I remember one preaching, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” So I asked the Lord, “Lord, if it is your will that I serve you as an usher, yes I will serve you. The following Sunday, I told Sis Marechan that I wish to serve as an usher. Now, I am happily serving the Lord. It's a gret feeling to serve and obey God. Our life as husband and wife, I always pray to be harmonious always. There are still problems but its manageable and I don't have to worry because I know the Lord will alwys be there to help. Ma. Lea Calixtro

Because of the Lord Jesus, my life now has a direction. I now regularly attends church and many things have transformed in my life. I learned to listen to my parents and obey them. This was made possible when I seeked the Lord and asked for forgiveness for all my sins. I just completed my highschool and I plans to pursue further studies. - John Henry Asuela

It’s been three years that Ive been a Scholar at WHCF and I’m forever grateful to the Lord. Before, whenever I had a project or have to pay something for school, it was a huge problem for my parents not knowing where to get it but now the foundation has become a big help for us financially. I have completed my highschool and now a Senior High student this year. I am trying hard to complete my studies and graduate and eventually help my parents. I always join the youth group in church and since I got to know the Lord, I made many friends. The church is a big blessing to me. - Shaira Amor Amoroso

I am so grateful to the Lord for using WIN-church to help ny business grow. I told the Lord, “My God, a million thanks is not enough for the work you have done in my life since I received you into my life. I always rejoice when I worship you because I realize that you God are alive.” That’s why I thank God exceedingly for it is only a year since I knew Him. It is but a year but I can really feel His Presence. It was just a month ago that I prayed to God for a business, I knew that nothing is impossible with Him. Now, I thank God even more for His promises are true in that He blesses those who diligently seek to follow His will. - Charelyn Melendrez.

God bless you for responding to God's call to take care of the poor. Here's my financial support, though how small it is, I am sowing it as a seed. To God be the glory.
