Roscoe: "Mommy, I want to go to the hospital..."

Me: "Why baby?"

Roscoe: "Because I want the doctor to take out my brain. I'm stupid."

His name is Roscoe LeDion B. Francisco, 10 years old. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii but is being raised now here in the Philippines.

We discovered that he was different than other kids during his Kinder 2 year. He couldn't recognize or sound out the alphabets. Numbers were also hard for him to decipher. In 2016, I had him finally checked by Dr. Lazaro at the Asian Hospital, and after a series of testing, Dr. Lazaro diagnosed him to having ADHD and Dyslexia.

Not much information or help is being given for children with this type of concerns here in the Philippines. Which is why it's been difficult trying to get him the help he needs. But now, I'm finally going to get it done, and I'm hoping for a bit of your help.

I'm a single mom to two boys. Making ends meet is hard but I'm thankful to the family and friends who have helped me thus far

In light of his birthday, July 22, I am hoping that instead of gifts, a donation to his Reading Remediation program to help him be better and more confident would be better. Your donation will help my dyslexic son, READ just like other kids his age.

It doesn't have to be much, whatever your heart wants to provide for this jolly little boy.

Sessions required are 3 per week at 700 pesos per session for a year or more. So it's very heavy on me right now. 🙁
