Our daughter is a student at York University in Ontario, Canada doing her Master in MS Supply Chain Management. Last week she was stabbed in Toronto by an unidentified assailant while she was walking near her campus. She was assaulted and wounded. It appears that she was stabbed multiple times in the neck, and that was the initial report made by the media in Canada but we later found out that she also had gun wounds in her head. She was transported to a hospital in life-threatening condition. Right now she remains in the critical care unit at a hospital where she is being attended to.
The Ministry of External Affairs S Jaishankar graciously helped our family to get visas to travel to Canada so we can be with our precious daughter who is fighting for her life. Even though our travel funds have been met, we have other pressing needs as we go to Toronto. We expect to stay there for a minimum of six months Our priority is to be with our daughter as she recuperates. The injury has been very grievous and the recovery is going to be very slow. The doctors are doing their best to stabilize her as she is going through multiple surgeries.
We're reaching out to family and friends to help us out. We appreciate any amount that you can give to support Rachel as we face one of the most challenging times we ever had as a family. We thank you for those who have been praying for Rachel and our family as well. We know God will work all things for good. We're also hoping that the perpetrator will be found and caught and brought to justice.
Thank you very much for your help and support.
