Help Zlata and Sofiia skate through hardship and fulfill their dreams

Dear Global Community!

I am Maria, mother of Sofiia and Zlata - passionate figure skating twins from Ukraine, who is currently reaching out to you humbly, hoping for Your help and support. Due to the war in our country I made the decision in April 2022 to bring my 3 children to safety to Romania, a country which we grew to love because of it's amazing people. One of the main factors that impacted my decision to relocate was the fact that my twins, who are 11 years old now, are talented and determined figure skaters with a dream. My girls have a goal to give their all and bring their own style to this beautiful and challenging sport.

The upcoming figure skating season will be one of the hardest for them so far, as they will be trying out a new category to start working up their way in the international ranking. As a mother, I am desperately trying to place a new system in place for my daughters to train, become better, stronger. I want to see them empowered despite all the circumstances that they are surrounded with. Being on the ice is what makes them happy and the only thing that gives them a sense of direction right now. At the end of last season my girls placed 2nd and 4th at one of the most important Romanian figure skating competitions, while before war, they were in the top 18 skaters of their category in Ukraine. I cannot emphasize enough how invaluable any of Your support would be for me and my children. My current aim is to raise 5000 Euros, which, if reached, would be spent the following way:

- 1050 Euros would be used to acquire 2 pairs of skates (boots and blades - Risport RF3 Pro boots and Coronation Ace or Ultima 7 blades - the basic professional set that would help them land double and triple jumps).

- 1000 Euros would be used to pay for 4 new competition dresses, as the twins, starting from this season will perform 2 programs - Short and Free program

- 2050 Euros is the calculated average amount that the admission on ice fee would cost for 9 months of training in Bucharest (Tiriac Ice Arena and extra ice lessons at Afi Cotroceni ice rink).

- 900 Euros - sum that should cover the entry fees to participate in 5 competitions in the upcoming season.
