Dear all,

I am a single mother for last 11 years, my husband passed away. Life has moved much forward and I became much stronger. Four years ago, my daughter told me that she wants to study abroad. She applied and she succeeded, getting great education I could never get, but I want the best for her.

I am giving her a bigger half of my salary every single month to cover her rent, and the rest is just enough to live. What I am giving her is a lot for me, but not a lot for her, because the difference between Slovak and British/Belgian salaries is big.

Currently she is on her year abroad and she fails to find work due to the foreign language. It is a very tough year for us two. The company I worked in quit and now I am trying to start my own business. I am doing what I can, and so is she. That means, not going out. That means, looking at every euro when doing groceries. That means, not having a cup of coffee on the street. Not buying clothes for the moment. Wearing the same autun shoes in the autumn, spring and winter. Not using the laundromat, but washing clothes in the sink. Not travelling, not going home for Easter, not eating fish, not tasting international food, not participating on the events with her friends. Life is happy anyway, but I wish she could live those little moments without worrying what she is going to eat for the next week. Nor seeing the balance of 10 euros on her account, before I send her a part from my savings.

So if you think you can and are willing to contribute something for little things that most people take for granted, you would support a clever student in this world who's trying to climb high, and it's taking a lot of time and efforts.

Thank you!
