HELP WILDLIFE AND STRAYS INFLICTED BY WILDFIRE IN GREECE

Yesterday, on the 17th of July, 35 square kilometers of the land of Lagonisi, Saronida, Kouvaras & Anavyssos were destroyed by wildfire. The resulting damages are detrimental. Vulnerable and helpless, wildlife, strays and pets, were burnt, wounded and lost. Stray animal sanctuaries were damaged and destroyed, and the facilities that were saved and remain up and running, need our help to continue with their work, which is needed now more than ever. They have to now handle the financial burden of first-aid, medical treatment, temporary housing, transport and overall care of the affected animals. Greece has over 3 million stray animals with just 10 million inhabitants. Volunteers and organizations in the area have been selflessly caring for strays, and require our help to be able to do so in these times of immense need.

Wildlife was greatly affected as well, with a forested area of over 30.000 acres being reduced to ashes. Wounded turtoises, birds, foxes are among others treated by wildlife care organization ANIMA, also local to the affected area, and saved from the flames by the help of volunteers.

Any help is greatly appreciated and guaranteed to make a difference in the lives of the creatures that survived this disaster, and also the volunteers dedicated to care for them. The funds will be distributed to the different beneficiaries.
