Hi! My name is Moses Okeng Ogwal, the Founder/ Executive Director (Volunteer) of SOWI: Support Orphans and Women Initiative, a registered community-based organization in Uganda (# LDG000124).
SOWI started in 2014, supporting 100 needy children from very poor families (single mothers) and vulnerable children, the majority of whom are orphans.
Our mission is to provide sustainable education and empowerment for eradication of poverty.
SOWI was funded by a group of Mormons in the US. I was the branch president in Lira (Northern Uganda) for over five years, until I was released from my duties as a branch president -- because I was supporting non-members with church funds. The Mission President told Mormon donors to stop donating to SOWI! This affected these families severely.
My heart is breaking for these children who have become my family.
This is the last term for these children to be promoted to the next class. The school has given me a mere 14 days to clear pending tuition balances for these beloved children. The balance is $5200
- Tution fees per term = $26/Child - Number of Children = 100 - 26x100 = $2600 -2 terms x $2600 =$ 5200
We want to see these children promoted to enable them to attain basic skills and vocational abilities so that they can earn a living.
Please help! Our time is short and no donation is too small for this worthy cause. After being their lifeline, the Mormon church has turned its back on them. We need your support if you can help. Join hands with us and give our precious children a sustainable future!
Thank you for your generous donation and support in any amount. Our poor families can succeed with the help of all of us.
