Help us to build a social centre In Moldova

The number of elderly people in the Republic of Moldova constitutes more than 20% of the entire population, approximately 750 000. The average life expectancy at birth in the Republic of Moldova remains the lowest in the European region: 65 years compared to 79 years in the EU. It is important to mention, that the mortality of the elderly is very high - about 35,000 annually. Statistics show that 89.4% die at home under adverse conditions. Poverty and low quality of basic social services are among the causes of high mortality rates.The creation of the "Sfintul Vasile cel Mare" Social Center for the elderly in the city of Vatra is foreseen by the strategy of development of integrated services of social assistance of the city for the years 2019 - 2045.The social services, which will be offered within the future center will help these people to meet their most important needs, with the aim of reducing or avoiding social exclusion and institutionalizing them. At the same time, this center will help not only the socially vulnerable, but also ensure the social security of the entire population in the city. Thus the social well-being of the community will strengthen people's ability to solve the problems that arise and create possibilities for their own change and improvement.
