Help us save four abandoned siblings who must escape extreme poverty

Together in the face of extreme poverty: the heart-wrenching tale of four young siblings bravely navigating life in a remote village in Tanzania amidst unimaginable challenges.

Picture this: a secluded village in the Himo district of eastern Tanzania, where four innocent children have been left to fend for themselves. Abandoned by their father when they were mere infants and their mother fleeing due to insurmountable debts, these resilient youngsters are left to face the harsh realities of life alone.

Meet Juma, a mere 14 years old, and his three siblings. Instead of attending school like their peers, they spend their mornings scouring the riverbanks for planks, desperately trying to sell them to put food on their meager table and cooking their meals on a simple log.

My name is Osnat Haviv, and I am privileged to accompany travelers to Tanzania. As part of our journey, we make it a point to visit families in marginalized villages, providing them with essential equipment and supplies. During one such visit in April 2023, I encountered these four incredible children, and my heart has not stopped aching since. At that moment, I made a silent vow to myself and them - a promise that I would return with the necessary resources to secure their place in an orphanage, where their daily needs would be met. And so, during one of my subsequent trips to Tanzania, I had the fortune of discovering the Tuleeni Orphanage in the Moshi district. The Tuleeni team, comprised of compassionate and dedicated individuals, expressed their willingness to welcome the siblings into their care, provided we can support them for three years.

We want to ask you to contribute to our noble cause - to rescue these children from the clutches of survival and allow them to live in an orphanage that will nurture their basic needs.

The four brothers will receive three years in the orphanage:

7. Daily meals and nutrition
8. A caring team of local staff and volunteers
9. Life skills and job training before graduation.
10. A path out of poverty through life-changing programs and services
