Many of you know Sparrow, our dog with a boot on his leg. In May, we found him with a missing paw, terrified and hiding under a nun's house. Since then, we have worked tirelessly to heal his wound in a way that would save his leg and allow him to walk normally.
Unfortunately, we have exhausted all our options and reached a difficult decision: Sparrow’s leg will have to be amputated. We have spent around 7 months trying everything we could to save his leg, but the wound is too serious to be healed. As sad as we are about having reached this point, we wholeheartedly believe that this decision will improve his life.
Currently, Sparrow must spend most of his time living in confinement with a cone around his neck, unable to play, run, or interact with other dogs. Sparrow is a lively, energetic, and active dog whose wound completely prevents him from being able to live a normal and happy life. By amputating his leg, we can teach him to walk on three legs and he can finally live the life he deserves. This dog has stolen the hearts of every volunteer, staff member, and visitor who has been lucky enough to meet him - he truly brightens up our days and brings happiness to everyone he meets. Now, we’re asking for your help in returning the favour. Let’s give Sparrow the life he not only deserves, but needs.
We need $3000 USD to be able to treat Sparrow and help him throughout his recovery. Please help us by donating to our fundraiser and/or sharing this post. Every little bit helps!
(For anyone interested, Sparrow will be up for adoption once he is all healed up and ready to travel! We are ideally looking for adopters in Canada or America.)
