Help us fund Aquiel’s HD Pull-through Surgery

Dear Everyone,

I'm Arlene Grace Orbe and my husband Exequel Orbe, reaching out to share an important chapter of our family's journey, one that revolves around our son, Aquiel Griex, and his battle with Hirschsprung disease.

Aquiel is now 8 years old and a Grade 2 pupil. At the tender age of two, he began experiencing symptoms, struggling with bowel movements and enduring the discomfort of functional constipation. What initially appeared as a passing issue gradually unfolded into a diagnosis that changed the course of his young life.

Just recently, he underwent a barium enema, and it was confirmed by his Pediatric Surgeon that he has Hirschsprung Disease. The option that the surgeon suggested is to have a pull-through surgery where the affected colon will be removed.

The prospect of surgery brings both hope and apprehension. We long for Aquiel to experience the freedom and comfort that many take for granted, yet the financial burden of the procedure weighs heavily on our shoulders. The cost of the surgery ranges from Php 350,000 to 500,000, a sum that exceeds our means and leaves us feeling overwhelmed.
