Help us fullfil our dream to attend Pictet Humanitarian International Law Competition

Who We Are ?

We are three highly motivated and aspiring three international law students, who are currently pursuing a double Law degree from Paris-1 Panthéon Sorbonne University (France) and Cairo University (Egypt) As law students, we dedicate all our efforts and time in the comprehension of human rights law, a field in which we acquired some experience by participating in several moot courts such as the Philip C. Jessup Moot court, the Monroe E Price Media Law Moot Court Competition and competitions such as the Model United Nations simulation where we developed a strong understanding in such a branch of law and the various ways a State can be held accountable for not conforming or adhering with the international standards. Regarding the Philip C. Jessup Moot Court, our team was the first Arab team to qualify to the advanced global rounds. Hopefully, we will also be the first team to ever participate in this competition from our institution.

Why do we need the funding?

This funding is crucial to us since we are full time students and this is our only chance to fulfill our dream in participating and winning the Pictet competition. We have no other means of funding nor sponsors, therefore, your contributions are very much needed. We are doing our best in finding means of funding and sponsors.

In order to participate in the competition we need a total amount of 3000 euros below are our budget details:

Expenses related to travel; flight tickets, visa fees, PCR tests and travel insurance : 1550 euros for the entire team

Personal expenses: 450 euros for the entire team (covered by the team)

Administrative fees: 750 euros for the entire team

In case of our incapacity to collect the entire amount, thus not being able to participate in the competition. We would be personally responsible to reimburse all donors.

Why this Jean Pictet ?

By participating in Jean pictet competition. We’re aiming to acquire strong understanding in international humanitarian law because we believe in change. We believe that we can positively influence our community by integrating international humanitarian law values. We believe that the values promoted by the competition hope for a better world a more peaceful one, and our mission is to transmit it to our peers and our community.
