Campaign Story
Oriental Mindoro is in a Crisis right now because 2.1 million liters of thick crude oil spill off the coast of the island. The situation remains dire. The spill has affected numerous areas and the consequences for the people and the environment are severe. We are doing everything in our power to help, but the scope of the disaster is overwhelming. The government is doing what it can, but they are stretched thin and their efforts are not enough.
Our group has been able to gather private funds purchase some of the best solutions on the planet for this type of disaster. They are:
- Oil Absorbent Fiber: 1 sheet of this fiber only costs $2.50USD and it can absorb 1 liter of oil. We already purchased 180,000.
- Oil Decomposer: this amazing all natural liquid has the ability to completely break down the carbon bonds of Oil! We already purchased 11 drums of this solution which has the ability to decompose hundreds of thousands of liters of oil. A single drum costs $18181.81.
- Coco Logs: Made from coconut, 1 of these logs can absorb 30 liters of fuel! They are made in the Philippines and only cost $35.00! We already purchased 199 logs and have already deployed them to critical areas.
Our group is working hand-in-hand with DENR, Philippine Coastguard, and LGU's to deploy these solutions, but this whole situation is seriously underfunded by the government due to lack of budget.
So now we appeal to you, our fellow Filipinos, for help to deploy these solutions right away. Your donations will fund:
- Importation Logistics of the 180,000 sheets of Fiber
- Local Logistic Costs of Transporting the Fibers and the EcoSafe solution to the Critical Areas.
- Purchasing & shipping more Cocologs to Oriental Mindoro
- PPE's for Volunteers
- Food for Volunteers
We are deploying in the Critical Areas of:
- Naujan
- Pola
- Pinamalayan
With every day that passes, our chances of saving the biodiversity in the area become lower. Anything that you can give to help will go a long way. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Please share it with others and let's get our brothers and sisters from these areas the help that they need!
