My name is Belinda and I am a freelance mural artist.
Today, many poor families suffered in hunger due to the pandemic. There are over one million of foreign immigrants with either no documentations or some form of expired pass. They lost their job and could not afford to sustain their living, especially those family that has disabled child. Many old folks in Sabah abandoned by their next kin’s could not even seek for help for their living.
I volunteered with Arm of Hope (AoH) Sabah in August for a food bank campaign. It was an eye opening experience where there are so many things we have taken granted of. Our citizenship and privileges, the house we live in etc. This charity volunteering is a painful wake up call to me.
I have created a mural artwork for AoH Sabah to help raise fund and bring awareness to the community. Hopefully and prayerfully, there are more people come to shed light no show kindness no generosity to other society.
At AoH Sabah, we focus to three (3) underprivileged group as follow:
- Orang Kurang Upaya (OKU) / Disable individuals
- Abandoned Old Folks
- Single Parent and Orphans
We have supported 400 households on our previous round food bank campaign in July - Aug 2021. The underprivileged group registered under AoH will receive basic help consistently based on their conditions.
AoH Sabah’s vision is to spread hope to all outskirt and rural area with the focused group stated above. We believe little act of kindness helps to spread great hope in many lives. We are seeking for RM10,000 by the end of the year. The fund will be used to support missionary work and logistics preparation.
