Hello dear friends! My name is Inna and I am a professional flutist, specializing in both classical and contemporary repertoire. Below are links to check some of my video/audio recordings:
I am originally from Ukraine, where I graduated from the Lviv National Music Academy and currently I am studying, under scholarship, for a Master’s degree focusing on contemporary Music at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, where I also have the privilege of playing in the renown ensemble Meitar of said Academy. I am intensively engaging in multiple opportunities to both further my knowledge and mastery of music, as well as my career as a full time professional musician! For music is my life..! It is how I see myself in the world, intricately connected to depths of my soul I still discover as I go in this long, beautiful journey of self-discovery!
Which brings us to the reason for my asking for your help at this point…
Almost 2 weeks ago my flute was stolen in the metro of Kiev, only some few hours before my performance with the Ukho-Ensemble, contemporary music ensemble I work with. I was devastated.. That was an instrument my life was connected to for more than 8 years. It was almost a part of me and the loss.. especially the cold way it happened.. left me empty and.. wondering..! It is like a small part of me was stolen away! And from what it seems for ever: police was already not optimistic about recovering it and with every passing day they don’t even bother contacting me, I feel whatever little hope there is to recover my flute is rapidly dwindling to zero..
And it was not only the past connected to that flute, but also the present and also the future. I didn’t stop playing and I will be playing full time! I had to run that night to the other side of the city to get a loan flute and I participated in the performance regardless. Early morning the next day I was already flying back to Israel without a flute and I borrowed one from the academy for a month to be able to participate in overlapping rehearsals, concerts and training sessions. And I do whatever I can to find a new instrument so that I can continue! But to further my knowledge and skills in Israel is expensive.. And although I have one main and multiple smaller scholarships, plus working wherever I can, plus maintaining my place in Ukho-ensemble in Kiev, money don’t come easy at this time of my life and a new – or even used – professional flute is a very expensive instrument! And it needs to be good! At least as good as the one lost to me and I dare say however better I can get! A good professional musician can produce good sound from almost every instrument but after a certain point, even a professional cannot go beyond the limitations of his/her equipment!
So I thought of starting this fundraiser effort, which I will start circulating, to see how much money I could gather and, combined with what little I can get in the immediate future, to set the budget for my new instrument. I will set the amount at 6000$, not hoping to get all these money – these are difficult and trying times for many people – but just to set it at the price level of a really good professional flute.
Thank you for your time to check my fundraiser and hope for the best!
