Meet Sorscha, our cat.
Sorscha is my girlfriend's cat. Or, as I'd like to say: "our cat". A few years ago, my girlfriend found her as a kitten, wandering the streets of Amsterdam. She had no name-tag or chip at the time, so both her date of birth, and whether she had an owner, was unclear. My girlfriend 'adopted' her, and she has been living with us for quite some time now.
At first, she was a bit scared of me, but during the years she has developed a very playful attitude toward me. She likes to catch (and scratch) my hand as she'd do with a prey, but these "fights" never become serious. We obviously love her very much. And we think that she also likes us. Of course with pets you never know, but we like to believe she does..
Last week, we found out that she was not doing well.
After having inspected urine samples, our vet found some blood in it. Sorscha's behavior was not in line with the suspected (and more "common") bladder infection, therefore further tests needed to be conducted.
Scans have since showed that she has bladder stones. Not that serious a condition as I understand - we feared that there was a tumor or something. But these stones need to be surgically removed soon, because they are currently causing pain.
We want to do the surgery as soon as possible, but the procedure is expensive. The total costs of the scans and surgery will lie between € 600-€800. For us, this would be a manageable amount on the long run, but it is not something we'd be able to pay up front.
We'd be very grateful if you could help us out, albeit by a bit. Every little amount would be more than welcome.
Thanks in advance on behalf of me, my girlfriend, and of course Sorscha!
