HELP TO LOCAL GUIDES OF VOLCANOES IN GUATEMALA

We are Associations of local guides for volcanoes in Guatemala, C.A. Identified as V-HIKING TOURS, APRODE GUATEMALA, and ASOAVA. Made up of 200 guides and porters to the volcanoes, and thanks to tourism, projects such as study grants, medical days, reforestation, murals, small infrastructure projects were generated in the communities near the Acatenango volcanoes and the Pacaya volcano, such as main and secondary to Santa María, Atitlán and Tajumulco Volcanoes.

Due to the entry of the COVID-19 virus into Guatemala on March 16, 2020, to date, the work of guide and porters to the parks has been paralyzed, leaving us without income to pay for basic and educational services. As organizations, the intention is to continue bringing food, continue supporting education and other short-term tourism alternatives

Through the fund that will be raised it will be distributed as follows.

1. So that the local guides can face the work problem due to the absence of national and foreign visitors to the natural parks, bringing them a living for three months of food

.2. That the family of the guides can pay the expenses of their children's studies and that they can continue with their academic training in the midst of the crisis and acquire technological means that allow them to adapt to virtual classes.

3. Create an agricultural entrepreneurship program for family gardens as an alternative for tourism.

As local guide organizations towards volcanoes we will continue working for the good of families and we know that with your contribution we will achieve the goal and be able to continue generating projects of social benefit.
