HELP THE VULNERABLE COMMUNITIES OF TARLAC PROVINCE AMIDST COVID-19 PANDEMIC

The Tarlac People’s Crisis Response and Solidarity Network (RESPOND TARLAC) is a disaster response network of the citizens of the Province of Tarlac in the Philippines. It comprises various groups, institutions and organizations and individuals from the academe, church, business sector, people's organization, and other private sectors.

In the present, the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases, PUIs, PUMs, and casualties is on the rise. Moreover, the enhanced community quarantine, that is synonymous to a lockdown, is being intensified in the Province of Tarlac. It aggravates much panic among the people, the frontlines are getting more and more understaffed and food and medical supplies are getting scarcer.

That is why it is RESPOND TARLAC's aim, in the midst of this pandemic, to unite all these groups and collectively reach out a helping hand to the underprivileged and vulnerable communities in Tarlac through proper information dissemination regarding the pandemic and what is happening around communities and combating the spread of fake news, expeditious provision of medical aid and relief goods and other programs that will ease their suffering.

Unfortunately, we are lacking a lot of resources to ration the impoverished. Even the government fails to give these communities enough food and medical supplies, and shady politicking is prevalent.
