HELP THE KID’S IN AGATU (NIGERIA)

Every day we heard news of crisis and conflicts in several social medias which reminds us of the crisis between Agatu and Fulani Herdsmen which has caused great suffering and displaced thousands of people.

My name is Friday, I am 37 years old from Nigeria and I have passion to help in any capacity I found myself.

Agatu is a Local Government Area of Benue State Nigeria, created in 1996 with the Headquarters at Obagaji. It is one of the nine (9) Local Government Area in the southern Senatorial zone which is mainly by Idomapeople of Benue State.

Agatu people are peace-loving people with subsistence farming and fishing as their major occupation with over 58,000 populations.

But since 2013 till date over 5,500 lives and property worth millions of naira has been destroyed due to crisis between Agatu and Fulani herdsmen.

About 3,920 died during the crisis while the rest died at the various Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in the part of the state.

Even the Representative of the United Nation’s High Commission For Refugees to Nigeria and Economic Community Of West Africa States (ECOWAS) Mrs. Angele Dikongue Atangana stated in one of her interview with Vanguard Newspaper of April 3, 2016 she stated that the level of killings and destructions perpetrated in Agatu Local Government Area by herdsmen is the worst in history. She said the plight of Agatu people deserve both national and international attention.

My main aim is to provide help in a profound way to those kids and the less privileged who are affected directly or indirectly during the crisis.

I plea for your help and donations to help the less privileged and those who lost their parents during cause of the crisis to go back to school to gain back their education which they will contribute greatly to the development of this country and the future in general.
