Greetings everyone. I am Alden Tagumpay and I started this fundraising campaign for my brother, Arvin Hernando Tagumpay.

A year ago, I started this fundraising campaign for my now 33-year-old brother Arvin to help fund the medical expenses for the treatment of his Stage 3 Testicular Cancer. The events leading up to his diagnosis were tough; only a few months after he and his wife had welcomed their first born Amiah into the world, he then got involved in a motorcycle accident while delivering goods for work. The imaging test he had following this accident showed that his left kidney was abnormally large, and he started to notice a swelling on his left testicle as well as a recurring lower back pain. Given his duties and responsibilities as a husband and a father, he did not give these health concerns much thought until they moved to Baguio City when the pain he was feeling started increasing, so he went to consult with specialists and had multiple tests to determine his illness.

The oncologist said that his cancer was aggressively spreading and causing secondary tumors to his other organs. But thankfully, with the help of your donations, my brother was able to immediately have a surgery to remove his left testicle, and he recovered well from this operation. He also underwent his 1st and 2nd chemotherapy sessions to treat the secondary growing tumor in his lungs and abdominal area that had spread from his primary cancer. While these treatments successfully led to the regression of his lung tumor, the evaluations also showed an indication of what could be a liver disease and that his kidney was swelling due to urine buildup while the tumor on his abdominal area kept pressing against it.

As of now, my brother’s tumor on his abdominal area remains too large to have it removed. So the doctor has advised him to undergo another cycle of chemotherapy to slow down first the growth of cancer before my brother can have a surgery to remove the said tumor. As my brother prepares for this next step of his fight against cancer, our family is once again asking for your help as we raise the funds needed for my brother’s upcoming treatment and following surgery.

We are deeply grateful for all the help you have extended to our family for the past year because every donation has helped us fund each of my brother’s treatment and surgery. We sincerely hope that you can help my brother again this time around as he continues to fight his Stage 3 Testicular Cancer.
